Your Documents Cannot Be Used in China Without This Procedure!

As a foreign friend in China, many of your documents, such as your academic qualifications, certificate of no criminal record, proof of relationship, etc., are usually issued abroad.
In general, if your documents need to be used in China, they must undergo certification. Do you know whether you should apply for an Apostille or Consular Certification?
Apostille Certification

Eligibility for Apostille
If you come from these countries, you can apply for Apostille.

Process
First, bring the documents requiring authentication and a valid ID, and have them notarized by a local lawyer or notary.

Then, submit them to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or an authorized agency for authentication.

Processing Time
It takes about 15 to 20 working days.

Important Note
Remember to get Apostille certification in the documents issuing country! Otherwise, it may not be valid in the destination country.

Consular Certification

If you are not from one of the contracting states of the Apostille Convention, you should go through the Consulate Certification. There are three steps:

1. Notarization by a notary office

2. Consular certification by the Foreign Affairs Department

3. Consular certification by the embassy of the destination country in your home country
